PHILIPPI – Due to weather conditions and the potential for flooding in parts of the county, Barbour County Schools will dismiss two hours early today, officials said.

“The safety of students and staff remains the top priority at Barbour County Schools. Please use caution while traveling and allow extra time as buses may experience delays on some routes due road conditions and high water,” a social media post from Barbour County Schools stated this morning.

The Barbour County Office of Emergency Management posted on social media this morning that a flash flood warning has been issued until 11:45 a.m. this morning by the National Weather Service in Charleston.
