Boil Water Advisory issued
ELKINS – The City of Elkins has issued a Boil Water Advisory in effect for Wilson Street, intersecting with Glendale Avenue, Washington Avenue, Lincoln Avenue and Hinkle.
To keep yourself and your family safe under a boil-water advisory, please do not drink tap water in the affected area without first boiling it to kill any bacteria or other organisms that may be present in the water. Bring water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using.
Alternatively, use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Throw away beverages and ice cubes if made with tap water; keep boiled water in the refrigerator for drinking; provide pets with boiled water after cooling; do not use home filtering devices in place of boiling or using bottled water; and use only bottled water to treat injuries.
