Beverly Fireman’s Festival officially underway

BEVERLY – The annual Beverly Fireman’s Festival will feature an abundance of activities for all ages and officially kicked off Saturday with the Little Miss Beverly Pageant.

“Other than having a couple more bands performing than what we did last year, a lot of the activities we are having are things people like and we’ve had in the past,” Beverly Fire Department President Robert Phillips told The Inter-Mountain. “We’ve had the Beverly Fireman’s Festival for numerous years and one of the most popular events we have is the fireworks on Friday night. We spent around $10,000 on this year’s fireworks, so it will be a good one.”

The Little Miss Beverly Pageant is for girls newborn to 12 years-old and is scheduled for 5 p.m. The event took place at Beverly Elementary School and there ere five age divisions for the pageant. There was also a little master firefighter chosen from boys newborn to 12 years-old.

The second Beverly Fireman’s Festival event will take place on Saturday, July 18, when the Beverly Fireman’s Queen Pageant takes place at Beverly Elementary School at 5 p.m.

A special Bingo event will be at the Firehouse on July 20, while Praise and Worship night is scheduled for July 21. A Cakewalk and Silent Auction at the Firehouse beginning at 6 p.m. on July 22.

Several events are slated for July 23, including the annual 4-H Ox Roast at Camp Pioneer (4 p.m.), an Ice Cream Social at the Firehouse (6 p.m.), and Community Appreciation Night that will feature hotdogs, chips and drinks at the Beverly Fire Department.

Things will shift into high gear to kick off the weekend on Friday, July 24. There will be a Petting Zoo at the Fire Department beginning at 5 p.m. and Inflatables for the kids. There will be two concerts leading up to a massive fireworks display at 9 p.m. The first band performing will be the Tithe of Volume Band at 5:30 p.m.). Wyatt Turner will then take the stage at 8 p.m.

Activities on July 25 will get started early and run throughout the day. Saturday’s events begin with a Craft Show (Firehouse) and Car Show (Methodist Church) at 9 a.m. Then at 10 a.m. there will be a Lumberjack Competition (Firehouse), Muzzleloader Shoot (Izaak Walton League), and Petting Zoo (Firehouse).

The day keeps rolling along on Saturday with a Chicken BBQ (Firehouse) at 11 a.m. and the annual Beverly Fireman’s Festival Parade at noon. The day will be capped off by two musical performances from the Zona Hester Band (3 p.m.) and Motorcycle Drive-By (5:30 p.m.) and a live Mountain State Wrestling event at the Beverly Elementary School. The wrestling event will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature WWE Legend, the Barbarian.
