ELKINS – The Rotary Club of Elkins welcomed its 2026-2027 officers and governing board members during its regular Monday meeting.

Karen Wilmoth was installed as president by outgoing president Phillips Kolsun. Wilmoth previously served as president of the club in 2003-2004 and most recently served the club as public image chair and completed a term on the board of directors. She is retired from Davis & Elkins College and enjoys traveling in both the U.S. and abroad with her husband, Bob.

Wilmoth volunteers with the Interact Children’s Museum and participates in the ladies’ golf league at the Elks Golf Course. She is active at the First United Methodist Church, volunteering in the office and serving as treasurer of the United Women in Faith at the church. The Wilmoths are the parents of two daughters, Stephanie White and Jessica Wilmoth, both of Morgantown, and two granddaughters, Kayleigh White and Ashlynn White.

“I am looking forward to the coming Rotary year. We will be working together to bring fun and interesting programs to the weekly meetings, to become more active and engaged at local events and to expand our membership reach within our community,” said Wilmoth.

Jerry Marco, a member of the club since March 2023, will be serving the club as president-elect for the upcoming year. Marco, who retired from the FBI in 2020 after more than 28 years of service, currently serves as Mayor of Elkins, a position he has held since 2021.

Marco was selected for the Smart Growth America’s Champions Institute in 2021, serves as a member of the West Virginia Municipal League’s Board of Directors and was selected vice president of that board in 2025. Marco also coached and mentored area youth for 30 years through his work at the Elkins YMCA. Marco and his wife Paula enjoy spending time with the “first dog of Elkins” Cooper and traveling.

Scott Goddard, vice president for institutional advancement at Davis & Elkins College, will serve a second year as the club’s program chair. A 1996 graduate of Davis & Elkins College, Goddard earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from West Virginia University in 2002.

In addition to his Rotary leadership, he has been an active volunteer with the Mountain State Forest Festival, The Arts Center, Elkins Area Shared Trails, Elkins Main Street, and the YMCA, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to community service and civic engagement.

Christina Hall, who will serve the club as secretary, is a native West Virginian, raised in Beverly. She is employed by the Davis Health System Foundation as the foundation coordinator.

Hall is a 2002 graduate of West Virginia University with a B.S. degree in Physical Education Teaching. In addition to Rotary, Hall is an active volunteer for Randolph County Climb, Meals on Wheels, and a 2025 graduate of Leadership Randolph.

Christy Tribble, CPA, will continue to serve the club as treasurer.

Tribble is currently retired and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Elkins since 2009, serving as the Rotary Youth Exchange officer for the club for a number of years. She has also served the club as president, vice president, program chair and membership chair.

Molly Propst of Propst Realty will begin her 7th year as the club’s sergeant at arms.  Propst is a past president of the GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Elkins, past president of The Arts Center board of directors and a former member of the board of directors of United Way.

She has two children, Matthew and Letitia and two granddaughters, Sadie and Jenny. Propst is an active member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.

Tammie Rizzio, executive co-director of Youth Health Service, Inc., will serve the club as Rotary Foundation chair; Owen Peet, facility manager at the Phil Gainer Center, will serve as service projects chair; Hoy Ferguson, president of Davis Trust Company, will serve as finance chair; and Kolsun will serve as public image and membership chair. Peet was also named Rotarian of the Year during recognition of the past year’s leadership team members.

Serving the club as elected board members will be retired insurance agent Jeff Welshonce, Peet and Davis & Elkins College Athletic Director Dr. Jennifer Riggleman.

Outgoing president Kolsun will serve as an ex officio member of the club’s governing board.

“My Rotary year has just flown by and I am very excited to see how the new leadership team led by newly installed President Karen Wilmoth will continue the great work that was started. This year we strived to ‘Unite for Good’ and I have full confidence that the new leadership team will ‘Create Lasting Impact’ as we move into 2026-2027,” said Kolsun.

“Looking back over the past year, I couldn’t be more proud of what we accomplished together. This year, we embraced Rotary International’s theme and I believe our club truly lived those words, whether we were volunteering at community events, supporting our schools and libraries, welcoming new members or working along side other organizations, we demonstrated what can happen when people come together with a common purpose of Service Above Self.”
