Gift supports Rosenbaum Family House

The Elkins Rotary Club has made a donation to support the meals program at Rosenbaum Family House, which is located on the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital campus of WVU Medicine in Morgantown.
Elkins Rotary President Karen Wilmoth met with Rosenbaum Family House Director Dana Schutte to present the gift.
Earlier this year, Family House staff members Pam Shriver and Joshua Spurlock visited the club, giving the group an overview of the services provided. Rosenbaum Family House was established in 1999 by Hilda Rosenbaum to provide a home away from home for patients, and their families, while receiving treatment at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Free meals are provided five to seven nights a week. The meals are provided through the generosity of the community or, if there is no meal scheduled for a particular evening, Rosenbaum provides the meal. The Rotary donation will provide at least one evening meal and, perhaps, even two depending on the selected menu.
"We've had residents stay with us between 1 and 150 days. The expenses associated with a long stay can be devastating for some families," said Schutte. "We served 83 families from Randolph County in 2025. Year to date 2026, we're at 32 Randolph County families served by Rosenbaum Family House."
