Guard performs flyover of Jamboree

CHARLESTON – Four C-130 J-30 Super Hercules military transport aircraft, part of the West Virginia Air National Guard’s 130th Airlift Wing, took part in a joint exercise Thursday afternoon with the Kentucky Air National Guard’s 123rd Airlift Wing for a flyover of the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in Fayette County for the 2026 National Scout Jamboree, followed by a practice cargo drop at Camp Branch in Logan County.
Headquartered at McLaughlin Air National Guard Base in Charleston, the 130th Airlift Wing is equipped with eight C-130 J-30 Super Hercules cargo aircraft. The C-130 J-30 is manufactured by Lockheed Martin and is an expanded version of the traditional C-130 Hercules.
