ELKINS – The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Randolph County near Gandy on July 21.
The NWS said this was an EF1 tornado, with winds up to 95 miles per hour.
This was the first confirmed tornado in Randolph County since 1980, officials said.,
This is the ninth confirmed tornado in West Virginia on July 21, including one in Barbour County.
