OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. ELKINS FARMERS MARKET: Open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon behind the Railroad Depot in Elkins. Parking can be found behind the Center Branch Church (formerly the Summit Church) buildings. The market consists of a large variety of vegetables during the growing season, eggs, cakes, cookies, jams, breads, flowers, crafts and many more items.

BARBOUR DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: The recently elected Barbour County Democratic Executive Committee will meet today at 6 p.m. in the side room of The Local Restaurant in downtown Philippi. The Executive Committee and all county Democrats present will elect officers and fill the vacant seats on the Committee. All Barbour County Democrats are invited to attend this meeting and be active in reestablishing the visible presence of the Democratic party in Barbour County.
RANDOLPH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: will meet Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the Kump Education Center, Randolph Avenue, Elkins. WEDNESDAY PICKIN': Country Music and Old-Time Jam Sessions will take place at Elkins City Park in the Sycamore Street Pavillion every Wednesday for the rest of the summer. Country Music Jams are from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Old-Time Music Jams are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Some jams may start sooner or end later. Players, singers and listeners are welcome. RANDOLPH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC WOMEN: will meet Thursday, Aug. 13, at 5:30 p.m. at Las Trancas Mexican Restaurant in Elkins. ALLEGHENY REGIONAL FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY: will meet on Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. In the library at the IOOF Building located along the Beverly Five-lane. Those interested in genealogy are encouraged to attend and become members of ARFHS. LABAN SMITH REUNION: The annual Laban Smith reunion will be Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Dry Fork Recreation Center pavilion starting at noon. All attending are asked to bring a dish to share and something for the silent auction, one for a child and one for an adult. Please bring your own drinks and chairs if possible.

EHS CLASS OF 1976: The Elkins High School Class of 1976 will hold its 50th year class reunion Friday, Aug. 21, thru Sunday, Aug. 23. A casual get together will be held on Friday at Magnolia Hall on Scott Hill in Elkins with hors devours from Beanders, games, and a 50/50 drawing. A buffet dinner, catered by Fish Hawk Acres, will be served at Magnolia Hall on Saturday. Activities for Saturday include a 50/50 drawing, silent auction/raffle, 70's music, a photo booth, and a class retrospect. HIGGINS REUNION:The Higgins Reunion will be Sunday August 30th at Camp Pioneer. Gather at noon, dinner at 1 p.m. Come, bring a covered dish and something for the auction table. We do hope to see everyone there!
