WESTON - Stonewall Resort at 940 Resort Drive will host "An Evening of Hope: Supporting Lewis & Upshur County Recovery" Saturday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. to support local families and businesses affected by recent flooding.
This event directly donates to the Lewis County Family Resource Network (FRN), who will donate 100% of the proceeds toward rehabilitation efforts.
Tickets are $75 per person and include a cocktail reception, dinner and entertainment.
Madalyn McCoy, Stonewall Resort marketing manager, said this event hits close to home, as many Stonewall employees and local businesses are still recovering from flood damage.
"It has been a devastating event that has happened in our community. Stonewall is hosting this event to be able to give back to the community, as we have experienced such support from our community over the years that we want to do something in the time of need to help support them as well," she said.
As the only resort in the region, she said it is crucial that Stonewall Resort shows its appreciation and care for its local residents.
"We just encourage people to come out and help make a difference for families throughout Lewis and Upshur counties as they continue to rebuild following recent floods, and just remind people that as Lewis and Upshur counties' small businesses also continue to reopen, to support them."
Stonewall Resort is still asking for food and entertainment donations. There are no limits to RSVPs, according to McCoy.
