BUCKHANNON -- An Upshur County woman faces a felony charge after police allegedly found packaged marijuana and methamphetamine in her possession.
Aryanna Bree Davina Wilson, 23, is charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver, a felony. She was being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond, which she posted.
According to the criminal complain,t filed by Patrolman C. Spotloe with the Buckhannon City Police Department, on Aug. 3, Spotloe arrived on the scene of a traffic stop being conducted by Patrolman D. Major.
Major had the driver step out of the vehicle to try and resolve a problem stemming from the registration expiration coming back to 2025, but the vehicle had a 2027 registration sticker, the complaint states. While Major was speaking to the driver, Spotloe observed a license plate laying in the back area of the vehicle. When Spotloe asked the driver what the license plate was to, the driver retrieved the plate and handed it to him.
Spotloe then provided the registration number to the Upshur County Communication Center and was notified that the plate was stolen and entered into National Crime Information Center (NCIC) by a West Virginia State Trooper from the Morgantown detachment, according to the complaint. The driver was then detained for the investigation of stolen property.
Spotloe then asked the vehicle’s passenger, later identified as Wilson, to step out of the vehicle, the complaint states. Spotloe conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and found a black pelican box attached to the passenger’s purse. When he opened the box, Spotloe allegedly discovered large amounts of marijuana and suspected methamphetamine. The suspected methamphetamine was reportedly packaged in a clear baggy and placed into its own container, while the marijuana was reportedly placed in its own secure container. Everything was organized and packaged in their own sub-box. A later field drug test gave a positive result for methamphetamine.
Spotloe writes in the complaint that, based on his training and experience in law enforcement, the overall security and organization of the found substances indicated possession with the intention to deliver to other people.
When Wilson was placed under arrest, she allegedly admitted to Spotloe that “all the drugs” were hers.
