ELKINS – A local bank has made a significant financial donation to help support Elkins High School athletic facilities.

Davis Trust Company in Elkins announced a $40,000 contribution to the Elkins Athletic Boosters in support of ongoing improvements to the athletic facilities serving EHS students, families and the greater community.

"At Davis Trust Company, we believe investing in our schools is an investment in the future of our community," said Rachel Hayes, Davis Trust Company CEO.

"Elkins athletics brings together students, families, alumni, and community members, and we are proud to support improvements that will benefit everyone who uses these facilities for years to come," Hayes said.

The bank’s contribution will support the Boosters' current capital improvement campaign, which is focused on enhancing amenities and infrastructure at the school's athletic fields, officials said.

These capital improvements will "help create a more welcoming, functional, and enjoyable environment for student-athletes, spectators, families, and community members attending athletic events," a DTC press release states.

"Davis Trust Company's $40,000 contribution reflects the bank's longstanding commitment to supporting education, youth programs, and projects that strengthen the communities it serves," the release reads.

"We're grateful for the work of the Elkins Athletic Boosters and everyone who has contributed to making this project possible," said Hayes. "We're excited to see these improvements take shape and to know they will serve generations of Elkins students and families."

The EHS Athletic Boosters meet every second Monday of the month in the EHS media room at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome.
