EHS Homecoming Court chosen

ELKINS – Elkins High School has chosen its 2026 Homecoming Court. The Homecoming Queen will be crowned at the football game today at Elkins High School.

Representing the freshmen class is Harper Lea Hornick. Harper currently plays volleyball and plans to play softball in the spring. She is a member of the freshmen class council. She is also a member of the West Virginia High School Rodeo Association. She plans to attend college and study animal science. She is the daughter of Seth Hornick and Amy Belcher.

Kenadi Sloan Hall Carte represents the sophomore class. Kenadi participates in gymnastics, volleyball, track, and swimming. She is a member of student government and is the president of sophomore class council. She plans to go to college to become an architectural engineer. She is the daughter of John Carte and Heather Hall.

Representing the junior class is Gracelan Dawn Sharp. She participates in club soccer and also plays soccer for Elkins High School. Gracelan is a member of student government and acts a tutor for the Pounce program. She plans to attend West Virgina University and major in criminology. She is the daughter of Lonnie and Angela Sharp.

Princess Lilly Anger is a representative of the senior class. Lilly swims for Elkins High School. She is the president of National Honor Society and the Little Dress Drive. She is also the treasurer of the Key Club. Lilly works at the local cinema. She is a member of the class council and the Pounce tutoring program. She plans to become a biomedical engineer. She is the daughter of Rachel Burns and Eric Anger.

Princess Greylyn Paige Belcher is a representative for the senior class. She has been honored in soccer as a 2025 first team All-State defender, as a member of the 2025 Big Ten Conference 1st team, and as the Elkins High School soccer captain for 2025 and 2026. She was also the junior class representative in 2025. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. She plans to attend Wesleyan University to play soccer and pursue her dream to become a physical therapist. She is the daughter of Chris Belcher and Sabrina Vanscoy.

A representative of the senior class is Princess Julia Claire Biola. Julia runs track and cross country. She is the vice president of student government and National Honor Society. She acts as a camp counselor at the YMCA in the summertime. Julia is a member of class council, Key Club and the Little Dress Drive. She plans to attend Coastal Carolina University to pursue her athletic and academic future. She is the daughter of Scott and Johanna Biola.

Representing the senior class is Princess Holliana Elizabeth Huffman. Holli is Miss West Virginia High School Rodeo. She competed in Nebraska in the rodeo events of barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying. She enjoys tumbling and stunting during cheer season. She is a member of the West Virginia high school rodeo association. She is a varsity cheerleader and the captain of the squad. She is a member of class council and is the vice president of the senior class. The plans to attend WVU for a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene. She is the daughter of Michael and Karin Huffman.

Princess Gabrielle Hazel Mahanes represents the senior class. Gabby is a member of the EHS softball team. She is employed by Anytime Fitness and is a Davis Academy intern at the Davis Medical Center through the CWST program. She is a member of class council, student government, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society and Key club. She plans to attend WVU to become a physical therapist. She is the daughter of Shawn and Karla Mahanes.

Representing the senior class is Emma Reese Markley. Reese is the captain of the Elkins High School cheerleading team. She is also a member of the Dance by Farrah competition team and is also a dance instructor. Reese is a member of the senior class council and the National Honor Society. She is the parliamentarian of student government and is an honor roll student. She plans to attend Fairmont State University to get a nursing degree and become a aesthetic nurse injector. She is the daughter of Anthony and Lona Markley.

Representing the senior class is Princess Talia Michael Nucilli. Talia is the captain of the Elkins High School soccer team. She was chosen to attend the Chick-Fil-A leadership conference during her freshmen year. She job shadows at the Valley Health Care Eye center through the CWST program with the Randolph Technical Center. Talia is a member of National Honor Society, is the secretary of class council, the treasurer of student government and is the editor of Key Club. She plans to attend WVU to major in biology and later get her doctorate in optometry at Suny College in New York. She is the daughter of Morgan Wince and Dominic Nucilli.

Princess Leah Mae Ours represents the senior class. Leah is the captain of the volleyball team and was a member of the 2024 state volleyball team. She is a member of the Elkins High School state swim team. She is an employee of Sip-N-Dip and participates in the CWST program at the Davis Medical Center. She is the secretary of student government and is the chairman of the student and staff committee. She is also a member of National Honor Society and class council. She plans to attend college for her BSN in nursing. She is the daughter of Brant and Karen Ours.

Princess Sophia Rose Ratnakar represents the senior class. Sophia is the EHS student body president and the secretary of National Honor Society. She is a member of the class council, Key Club and the Little Dress Drive. Sophia plans to attend West Virginia University in pre-med and later become a psychiatrist. She is the daughter of Nitesh Ratnakar and Linda Johansson.

Representing the senior class is Samantha Grace White. Samantha is a member of the volleyball and tennis teams at EHS. She is participating in the Career and Work Skills training program through the Randolph Technical Center. She is a member of student government, class council, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society. She serves as a youth elder at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian church. She plans to attend WVU with the goal of becoming a registered dietitian nutritionist. She is the daughter of Bryan and Kim White.

The flower girl for this year's Homecoming court is Felicity Rose LaMora. Felicity attends Midland Elementary School and is in the fourth grade. She is the daughter of Ray and Katie LaMora and has one brother, Logan. She is the granddaughter of Ed and Shellie Burda and Ray and Sue LaMora.

The crown bearer is Greyson Webley. Greyson attends Jennings Randolph Elementary and is in the fourth grade. She is the son of Rebecca and Scott Webley and has one brother, Lane. He is the grandson of Crissy and Brennon Webley and Zach, and Dana Burke.

The Homecoming Queen will be crowned at half-time of the football game by the 2025 Queen Delia White. Delia is attending Davis & Elkins College and is majoring in nursing. She will be assisted by Principal Carla Lambert and the assistant principals, Brian Currence and Sarah Wamsley.
