Spectators line streets for MSFF Children\'s Parade

ELKINS – Spectators lined both sides of Davis Avenue Sunday afternoon to watch the 2026 Mountain State Forest Festival Children’s Parade under sunny skies, and were able to catch a peek at this year’s Maid Silvia.
This year’s Children’s Parade theme was “Paws, Wings, and Autumn Things,” and participants were asked to dress as their favorite woodland creature, forest animal, bird, butterfly or any fall-inspired creation.
The parade stretched from 11th Street past Elkins City Hall, where it concluded on 5th Street. The parade was part of Children’s Fest, which featured a host of free activities for children, including sand art, photo booth, character visits, foam dance party, bracelet making, crafts, games and more.
Maid Silvia Emma Grace Snyder walked through the Children’s Parade Sunday, waving to onlookers and strolling with Maids of Honor Kendall Rayann Corley and Grace Elizabeth Parsons down the parade route.
Children’s Fest activities took place immediately at the conclusion of the parade, and those attending were also treated to a free hot dog meal. More than 20 local organizations and businesses also had vendor tables set up for children to visit.
