Davis & Elkins College's Amy Kittle has been appointed to the Association of Title IX Administrators Advisory Board.

ELKINS – Amy Kittle, Title IX coordinator at Davis & Elkins College, has been appointed to the Association of Title IX Administrators Advisory Board, bringing more than a decade of experience in civil rights compliance, investigations and prevention education to the national organization.

First appointed Title IX coordinator at Davis & Elkins in 2014, Kittle serves in a shared position supporting Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan College, overseeing Title IX and other civil rights compliance at both institutions.

"I am deeply honored to be elected to ATIXA's Advisory Board. Joining a dedicated network of thought leaders in the Title IX field is an incredible privilege. I have long been an advocate and supporter of ATIXA's work in championing equity in education, advancing institutional compliance, and helping to support the highest professional standards for Title IX administrators nationwide," Kittle said.

"Amy Kittle is a dedicated and passionate professional who will be an excellent addition to ATIXA's Advisory Board," said Davis & Elkins College President Chris A. Wood. "For more than a decade Amy has served this college with distinction, and brings both a wealth of knowledge and a heart full of compassion to her work. I highly value her wise counsel and this college is better thanks to her."

The Association of Title IX Administrators, known as ATIXA, is the nation's leading membership organization for Title IX professionals. The association promotes, develops and safeguards the practice of Title IX administration and supports professionals working in the field.

Since 2022, Kittle has worked through a shared staffing arrangement designed to help smaller, rural colleges recruit and retain experienced professionals. The partnership originally included Davis & Elkins College, West Virginia Wesleyan College and Alderson Broaddus University, which closed in 2023. The model allows participating institutions to share resources while maintaining access to specialized expertise.

According to ATIXA's 2025 State of the Field Survey, fewer than 30% of Title IX coordinators in higher education have more than 10 years of experience.

Kittle's appointment brings the perspective of smaller, rural institutions and a collaborative approach to civil rights compliance to the advisory board.
