ELKINS – The Elkins-Randolph County Chamber recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Village Caregiving Elkins as it moved into its new home at 111 Randolph Avenue.

Village Caregiving, which currently has 11 offices in West Virginia, had already established a strong presence in the community after opening its office in Elkins back in January.

The Elkins office has a team of 43 caregivers, who are servicing 40 clients throughout the region. Village Caregiving works alongside its clients to navigate the aging process and provide basic home care services.

Village Caregiving specializes in non-medical in-home care, and supports clients who need assistance with daily living activities. Its hands-on approach can range from companionship care to various non-medical services, including light housework, hygiene assistance, meal preparation, and transportation.

The company also provides compassionate and effective home care for loved ones with Alzheimer's or dementia, a service that requires patience, understanding, and the right support strategies.

The company is led by executive director Maggie Coleman, who started her career in home care as a caregiver before advancing into leadership roles within Village Caregiving.

Chamber representatives, Village Caregiving staff, and local community members took part in the celebration, which allowed caregivers and clients to learn more about the services the organization provides to local families.

“The Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate Village Caregiving and the growth the organization has experienced since opening its Elkins location,” Elkins-Randolph County Chamber director Karrah Washington wrote in a press release. “The Chamber looks forward to watching its team continue to grow, create local employment opportunities, and provide an important service to residents throughout the region.”

Village Caregiving has offices in 21 states across the United States. The organization has grown from a single location with one employee in Barboursville to more than 65 locations in the Midwest and Eastern U.S., and more than 4,000 employees since its inception.
