ELKINS -- Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center has a new Director of Staff Development and Infection Preventionist.
Recently, ERCC Administrator Tara Shaver hired Randolph County native Misty Bolyard to fill the position left vacant when long-time employee Kelly Channell retired at the end of October. Bolyard has served as a nurse since 2008. She was previously employed at ERCC as a registered nurse from 2011 until 2017.
"We know that Misty is an excellent nurse and has a great work ethic," Shaver said. "We're excited that she has returned to ERCC employment."
Bolyard said she was very pleased to be returning to ERCC and that she was looking forward to her work as Director of Staff Development and Infection Preventionist.
"ERCC has an excellent team," she said. "I'm really eager to jump in and hit the ground running."
Bolyard graduated from Tygarts Valley High School in 1999. From there she joined the U.S. Army where she served until 2011. She served two tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In 2017, she took over as the school nurse and LPN program coordinator for Randolph County Schools.
She graduated from the Randolph County LPN Program and obtained her LPN licensure in 2008. In 2012, she obtained her RN licensure after graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Alderson Broaddus University. She went on to obtain her Master of Science Degree in Nursing and Public Health from Walden University in 2020.
"She's going to pick up right where Kelly left off," Shaver said. "She's already become a part of our ERCC family."
