CHARLESTON - Governor Patrick Morrisey on Monday afternoon declared a State of Emergency for Barbour County following severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall that caused significant flooding and damage across the county beginning on July 18. Church seeking funds for expansion of facility

Blood shortage declared an emergency

PARKERSBURG – An emergency blood shortage has been reported by the American Red Cross because of an "alarming drop" in supplies, the agency said. The blood supply dropped about 25% in June, the Red Cross said. "The American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage and needs donors to give now and take steps to protect patient care," Sharon Kesselring, executive director of the American Red Cross of the Ohio River Valley, said.
