POCAHONTAS COUNTY – A pilot was killed in a helicopter crash Friday morning in Huntersville, near Marlinton in Pocahontas County. The incident happened at around 7:45 a.m. and is being investigated by both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, officials said. The Sikorsky S-76D helicopter was owned by WACO Oil & Gas. The company has confirmed that the pilot, Leo Basile, 57, of Arthurdale, was pronounced dead at the scene.
