Officials: One killed in helicopter crash in Pocahontas County

POCAHONTAS COUNTY – Officials are reporting that a pilot was killed in a helicopter crash this morning in Huntersville, near Marlinton in Pocahontas County. The incident happened at around 7:45 a.m. and is being investigated by both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, officials said. The pilot of the Sikorsky S-76D helicopter was apparently the only person onboard the craft, according to reports. “After the wreckage is documented, it will then be moved to a secure facility for further evaluation,” the NTSB wrote in a press release ...

ELKINS — The case against a Randolph County man charged with being in possession of a stolen side-by-side was dismissed this week after officials determined there was "no sufficient evidence."
