Kump Center to host annual fundraiser

ELKINS - One of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Kump Education Center will take place on Saturday during the annual Pie Auction at the historic Kump House. The theme for this year's event is "Pies for Preservation" and activities will get underway at noon when visitors can tour the 101-year-old Kump House free of charge. BUCKHANNON - Members of the Buckhannon American Legion recently went above and beyond the call of duty to honor a veteran who had a special request when he passed away. Ed Smith, Commander of the Buckhannon Post 7 Honor Guard, said he recently received a call from the daughter of a veteran who passed away in Buckhannon.
