Erda May Harman Weese, 74, a resident of the Cravens Run Road community of Elkins, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at home following an extended illness and under the care of WV Caring.
Erda May was born on March 4, 1944, in Elkins the daughter of the late Dickson and Icie Hall Harman.
Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Harold P. Weese, who she married at the Midland Presbyterian Church near Elkins on March 14, 1964.
Also surviving is her son, Harold P. "Hal" Weese II of Nashville, Tennessee; and daughter Amanda J. "Mandy" Weese of Fulton, Kentucky; four brothers, Robert Joe Harman and his wife, Virginia, John Harman and his wife, Mary, James Harman and his wife, Janet, Jack Harman and his wife, Sandy; and brother-in-law, Alton Daniels, all of Elkins as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many dear friends.
Also preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were two sisters, Ruby Harman and Mary Sue Daniels.
Erda May attended the schools of Randolph County and was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1962. She was a member of the Orlena United Methodist Church of Gilman. She had worked at the C&P Telephone Co., Craig Motor Sales, Dutch Oven Bakery and at the Elkins Kroger store as the sausage demo lady. She was a loving devoted wife and mother who will be missed more than words can express.
Family and friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Theodore I. Bessey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mouse Cemetery at Cravensdale.
