SIGLEY
Susan Ruth Corley Sigley, 63 a resident of Elkins, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at her home with her husband Rick by her side, following a courageous battle with A.L.S.
She was born on a farm near Valley Head on April 26, 1956, a daughter of the late Deward and Thelma Lindsay Corley. She was the eighth of nine children.
Susan was twice married; first to Robert Provencher with whom she had two daughters; Heather and Stephanie of Alabama, and five grandchildren.
While working at Davis Medical Center, she met her second husband Rick, whom she married in September of 1999, and they had celebrated 20 years of marriage. Rick was a loving, caring husband to Susan and they had hoped to enjoy their retirement, doing the things they enjoyed.
Also surviving are two stepchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Sovey and husband John, Helen Campbell and Lynette Branch and one brother, Lloyd Corley. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt Virginia Loudin, many friends and her special buddy "Swivel" also survive.
Also preceding her in death were two sisters and one brother.
She attended the schools of Randolph County and graduated from Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1974. Susan had worked as a broadcaster for WDNE Radio Station prior to being employed at the Huttonsville Correctional Center until her illness required her to retire. Susan was a devoted mother and wife who always put her family first. Her smile would light-up a room and her love of family was very important to her. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, Feb. 29, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Stella Faye Moyer officiating. Susan's request for cremation will then be honored.
