Robert ‘Bob’ Howard Norton
Robert “Bob” Howard Norton, 85, a resident of Junior, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at home surrounded by family and under the care of West Virginia Caring.
Bob was born Saturday, Nov. 3, 1934, in Hartford, Connecticut, fourth son of the late Harold Norton and Anna Mollerberg Norton.
On June 23, 1956, he married the former Mary Lecko, who preceded him in death.
He leaves behind three children, Thomas Norton of Davie, Florida, Amy Mueller and husband John of Junior, and James Norton and wife Johannah of Butler, Pennsylvania, two brothers, Harold Norton of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Harvey Norton of Florida, three granddaughters, Liliana Norton, Elliana Norton, and Erin Mueller, one great-granddaughter, Alana Mueller, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Russell Mollerberg and Frank Reilly, three half sisters, and one half brother.
Bob was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had been employed at Hamilton Standard in Connecticut until he retired and moved to the beautiful mountains of West Virginia where he did part time work now and then.
He drove for Meals on Wheels, but his favorite was working for Women’s Aid in Crisis. He never knew a stranger and loved finding ‘bargains’ he could share with people. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a member of the Philippi Congregation.
Bob’s request for cremation was honored.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
