Ruth’s love for her family was undeniable and she had a heart of gold, never hesitating to do what she could to help someone in need. She thoroughly enjoyed her children and watching them in various concerts, parades, plays, and sporting events over many years. She loved to cook, research, and try new recipes and particularly enjoyed cooking something delicious to share with others. A lifelong Elkins resident, Ruth truly enjoyed the local flavor of the community and relished in a trip to the farmer’s market, a live music event, dining out at a local restaurant, or shopping the local merchants. Ruth’s request to be cremated will be honored. A joint memorial service for Ruth and her husband, Ken, will be announced at a later date. Family asks for memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to be made to a local charity or non-profit organization of choice but does offer the following suggestions: Randolph County Humane Society, Catholic Charities WV, or the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center Memorial Fund.
