Mark Lee Bennett
Mark Lee Bennett, 55, a former resident of Whitmer and more recently a resident of Staunton, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at his home.
He was born July 17, 1966, at Harman, West Virginia, the adopted son of the late Walter and Lulu Hedrick Bennett.
Surviving are his biological mother, Linda Arbough of Harman; a daughter and seven grandchildren; brothers and sisters, James Harper and companion, Laurie Teter, Lisa Harper Day and companion, Charlie Thomas, Linda Barb and husband, Amos, Becky Eckard and husband, Nathan, Bernadette Pennington, Robert “Bunny” Arbough and Leslie, Reba Woods, Rita Arbough, Dennis Arbough and Marshall Arbough.
Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Faye and Bill Moyer, Allen and Dale Teter, Stellman Teter and Ron Nicholson; several nieces and nephews, including one special nephew, Brenden Harper; and six great-nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were grandparents, Waneta and Stellman Teter and Geneva Mullenix; his father, Howard Arbough; and an uncle, Walter “Bucky” Vawter.
Mark was a graduate of Harman High School and was employed by Roy and Mike Mullenax for many years. He loved hunting bear and deer and walking on the farm.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the Bennett Family Cemetery near Whitmer.
Rev. Stella Faye Moyer will officiate and interment will follow.
Masks and social distancing will be required for anyone attending the service.
