Charlotte McAfee

Charlotte was born May 10, 1941, in Berryburg, West Virginia, to parents Audry A. Howell and Hallie Bolyard Howell.

She passed from this earth on Aug. 11, 2022, at Strafford Care Center, Strafford, Missouri.

She was a faithful Christian and happily anticipated her Heavenly reunion with her Savior and those loved ones who went before her.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her brothers, Junior Howell, Wayne Howell, Murell Howell, and Harold Howell Smith; her son, Micheal Raymond McAfee; her husband, William McAfee Jr.; and three beloved grandsons, Richard Scott O’Brien, Bretsell Brennis Bolton Jr. (BJ) and Robert Joseph Seidel (Bobby Joe).

She is survived by her brother, Burell Howell; two sisters, Wanda and Patty Ann; her children, Donna Facemire, Carol Anthony, Mary Marteney and Earnest McAfee; her grandchildren, Treasa Edmond, Peggy Emerson, Casey Edmond, Natalie Willbanks, Sarah Biljeen, Rachel Cole, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Thorburn, Ivy Woods and Julia McAfee; 18 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Charlotte loved her Lord, her family, friends and everyone she met. She was a devoted homemaker and for many years worked as a caregiver for the elderly. She also operated her own daycare.

Charlotte was a generous, creative, and nurturing woman. She loved to bake bread and share her famous apple dumplings with loved ones. She crocheted, crafted and sewed and loved making stuffed bears and doll clothes for children, apple dolls and quilts.

She drank her coffee scalding hot and by the pot full, listened to her music loud, bragged about her grandchildren to anyone who would listen, cleaned house, cooked, crafted and enjoyed whatever the day called for.

No matter how busy she was, she had time for a friend that stopped by or a phone call.

She also enjoyed her houseplants and would jump at the chance to take part in an adventure.

Charlotte will be missed by those left behind, but we cherish our memories with her and will always remember her love.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens, Elkins, West Virginia, with the Pastor Mark Willbanks officiating. Interment will follow.
