Ava Louise Riffle Shrout

Ava Louise Riffle Shrout, 88, a resident of Monterville, passed from this life Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at home surrounded by family and under the care of West Virginia Caring.
Ava was born Friday, April 20, 1934, in Huttonsville, a daughter of the late Cecil Riffle and Janie Green Riffle.
She married James Junior Shrout, who preceded her in death in 2000. They were married for over 50 years.
Left to cherish her memory are three children, Kathy Raines, Charles Shrout and Hunter Howell; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Alva Riffle, Arnold Riffle, Mary Barrick, Orville Riffle and Neva Stanbrough.
Ava attended school and obtained her GED in Randolph County.
She had been employed as a cook at Snowshoe Resort.
Ava liked to cook, clean and sew. She was known for her love of all animals. Ava was a lifetime member of Point Mountain Church in Monterville.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour.
Rev. Marshall Williams will officiate and interment will follow in Mingo Cemetery.
