Arden Gale Huffman

Arden was born Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1942, in Harman, a son of the late Carl Huffman and Holly Cooper Huffman. On Sept. 1, 1973, in Oakland, Maryland, he married the former Linda Sue Friend, who survives at home.

Also left to cherish his memory are five children, Denise Marsh and husband, Kevin, of Philippi, Pam Huffman of Elkins, Tanya Bonner and husband, Jamie, of Harman, Sandy Berry and husband, Jr., of Middleway, and Karen McFarlan and husband, Terry, of Harman; five grandchildren, Scotty Shillingburg, Tiffanie Jays, Amber Mullenax, Cody Wolford and Chelsea Conrad; nine great-grandchildren, Kye, Bryson, Mya, Jase, Koen, Audri, Kaisleigh, Holden and Raelynn; and one brother, Lake Huffman and wife, Cindy of Harman.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were two siblings, Wayne Huffman and Shannon Lambert.

Arden was a graduate of Harman High School and had been employed with Laborer’s Union 984. He was an avid bear hunter and enjoyed sharing his stories about those bear hunts. Arden was a fixture in the local stores in Harman, eating plain potato chips, drinking Pepsi and chatting with all whom he came in contact with. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family.

Arden was Pentecostal by faith and attended the Job Church of God.

Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., the funeral hour. Rev. Todd Rhodes will officiate. Arden’s request for cremation will then be honored.
