Beechard Franklin Howell

He was born Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1937, in Elkins, a son of the late Homer Howell and Viola McCauley Howell.

He married the former Wilma Schoonover, who survives at home.

Also left to cherish his memory are seven children, Debbie Ogden and husband, Terry, Mike Howell and wife, Patsy, Becky Warner and husband, Gary, Trinity Howell and wife, Ronda, Melissa Tusing and husband, Glenn, Travis Howell and fiance, Brianna Hill, and Kelsey Howell; granddaughter, Temperance Howell, who resided at home with him, grandchildren, Emberlee, Carrie, Beverly, Michael, Josh, Trinda, Beechard “Bub”, Isaac, Amy, Alisisa, Khole, Riley, Trinton and Dawson; several great-grandchildren; four siblings, Gertrude Shreve and husband, Robert, Conway Howell and wife, Debbie, Rex Howell and wife, Mona, and Victor Howell and wife, Evelyn; several nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Teresa Howell.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were two sons, Mark and Spike Howell; one brother, Bretsel Howell; and three sisters, Barbara, Heidi Mae and Dorothy.

Beechard attended the schools of Randolph County. He had been employed as a supervisor at Elkins Lumber and retired from Bruce Hardwood in 1999. Following his retirement, he worked the hayfield for the Kyle family. When he stopped working in the hayfield, he was 83 years old. Beechard enjoyed hunting, camping and riding four wheelers. The two things he loved to do the most was working in the hayfield and being a horse farmer.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the West Virginia Caring Hospice Inpatient Center in Elkins.

Beechard’s request for cremation will be honored.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
