Charles Shawn Shannon
Mr. Charles Shawn Shannon, 62, a resident of Belington, departed this life Tuesday evening, January 10, 2023, at his home. Death was following a period of declining health.
He was born Oct. 5, 1960, in Taiwan, a son of the late Clair Nixon and Irene Hamilton Shannon.
On Jan. 22, 1982, he was united in marriage to the former Vickie Lynn Bennett, who survives at their home in Belington.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one stepson, William Bennett and wife, Erica, of Belington; four grandchildren, Kristen Bennett, Alex Paugh, Shawn and Bentlee Pennington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Wade Harrison Shannon.
Mr. Shannon attended the Schools of Barbour County and before becoming disabled he worked as a union carpenter. Charles was a very crafty individual and loved to fix things. He loved the outdoors, especially coon hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A graveside service will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman officiating.
Interment will then follow.
