Kelly Leigh Simmons
SIMMONS
Kelly Leigh Simmons, 59, a resident of Elkins, passed away Jan. 14, 2023, in the United Hospital Center at Bridgeport, West Virginia, under the care of West Virginia University Medicine Hospice.
She was born June 14, 1963, at Elkins, a daughter of Henry Asher “Pete” Simmons and Barbara Smith Simmons of Elkins.
She had never married.
Surviving are two sisters, Lisa K. Runner and husband, Robert, and Amy Jo Harris and husband, Randall, all of Elkins; one niece, Rebekah Ellen Harris; and one nephew, Joseph Randall Harris.
Also surviving is her dog, Addie Jean; and Thomas the cat.
Kelly was a graduate of Elkins High School. She had worked at Davis Medical, Nella’s Nursing Home and for Dr. David Currence before becoming a minister. She served as Pastor at the Otterbein United Methodist Church of Elkins until becoming disabled. She was a member of Wayside United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women.
Kelly’s request for cremation will be honored.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Wayside United Methodist Church, c/o of Jean Knavenshue, 166 Knavenshue Lane, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Kelly.
