Ralph Ronsdale Wamsley Jr.

Ralph Ronsdale Wamsley Jr., 88, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins, West Virginia.
He was born July 30, 1934, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Ralph and Della Tenney Wamsley.
On Dec. 18, 1954, he married Rachel Wolfe, who preceded him in death on April 12, 2008.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Anna Wamsley; grandson and veteran, Luke Wamsley; and eight siblings.
He is survived by one daughter, Deborah A. Kelley and husband, Thomas, of Buckhannon; four sons, Rocky R. Wamsley and wife, Lora, Michael W. Wamsley and wife, Jacqueline, Timothy D. Wamsley and wife, Candace, and Dion C. Wamsley and wife, Nancy J., all of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Rita Wamsley of Florida, Amy Orsburn and husband, Matthew, of Buckhannon, and Leona Wamsley of Vermont; nine grandsons, Rusty Wamsley, Rocky Wamsley II and wife, Ashley, Isaiah Wamsley, Garrett Wamsley, Greg Kelley and wife, Jill, Dustin Wamsley and companion, Ashley Tenney, Matthew Wamsley and wife, Sarah, Shane Wamsley and companion, Alicia, all of Buckhannon, and Shawn Wamsley and wife, Ashley, of Belington, West Virginia; several great-grandchildren; and friend, Eddie Riffle of Elkins.
Mr. Wamsley was an equipment operator and a Methodist by Faith. He was a devoted family man and a hard worker all his life. Mr. Wamsley loved telling jokes and making others laugh. He took pride in helping everyone he could.
Friends will be received Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, from the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Wamsley Cemetery in Buckhannon.
