Terrence ‘Terry’ Patrick Binns

Terrence “Terry” Patrick Binns, 84, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Mountain Hospice.

Terry was born Monday, July 4, 1938, in Elkins, a son of the late Thomas John Binns and Leona O’Connor Binns.

On June 19, 1965, in Elkins, he was married to the former Elizabeth Louise Sainato, who survives. They had celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Also left to cherish Terry’s memory are three sons, Patrick Binns and wife, Kathy, Greg Binns and wife, Charmayne, and Paul “P.J.” Binns, all of Elkins; a brother, Thomas Binns and wife, Barbara, of Elkins; a sister, Eleanor Sainato of Elkins; six grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Preceding Terry in death besides his parents were four brothers and three sisters.

Terry had attended the schools of Randolph County and had served with the United States Army. He had worked for MRK III Contracting as an ASME Welder and was a master carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and grilling and barbequing. He was a loving father and husband and was very involved in his family’s lives. He coached Little League T-ball, baseball and football and had taught CCD Class. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church, where he had been a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Terry’s request for cremation was honored.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Brendan Catholic Church on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at noon. Father Jim O’Connor will be the presider.
