David ‘Dave’ Lee Hevener
HEVENER
David “Dave” Lee Hevener, 60, a resident of Monterville, passed from this life Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at home. Although he had been in declining health, death was unexpected.
Dave was born Saturday, March 3, 1962, in Elkins, a son of Eula Jean Hevener Gibson, who survives, and the late Don Gibson.
He had never married.
Also left to cherish his memory is one sister, Norma Mathes and husband, Dan, of New Market, Virginia; two nieces, Missy Crist and Heather Gibson; one nephew, Daniel Mathes; two great-nieces, Michaela Crist and Abigail Crist; and several cousins whom he was close to.
Preceding him in death besides his father were two brothers, Henry Gibson and Eugene Hevener; and two ladies that were an important part of his upbringing, his grandmother, Ada Hevener, and aunt, Pearl Hevener
Dave was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School class of 1980. He had been employed as a machine operator at Arrowhead Industries in Ohio for 30 years. He loved football. He played football in high school, and then continued to enjoy watching football on TV and enjoyed going to school sporting events watching family members. Dave would travel extensively to watch NASCAR races. He was always interested in history, especially the Civil War. Above all, Dave adored his family and enjoyed spending time with them on the farm.
The family’s request for cremation will be honored.
