Delores Jean Bott Losh, 93, of Elkins, died at her home surrounded by family, Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.
She was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Grafton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late William Bott Sr. and Wilda McCoy.
On Oct. 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, John Robert "Bob" Losh. This year would have been their 75th anniversary.
She is survived by three sons, John Roger Losh and wife, Denise, of Elkins, William Gregory Losh of Roswell, Georgia, and Stewart Bradley Losh and Kacey Shupe of Fayetteville, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Justin Losh of Fort Myers, Florida, Angie Wills of Fairmont, West Virginia, Chelsea Losh of Rome, Georgia, John Losh of Fairmont, West Virginia, Matthew Losh of Locust, North Carolina, Alex Losh of Athens, Georgia, Danielle Hendrix of Lumberton, North Carolina, Lindsey Stell of Elkins, Sam Losh of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ricky Losh of Atlanta, Georgia; step-grandchildren, Isaac Stalnaker of Waldorf, Maryland, and CeCe Mathis of Morgantown; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Don Bott of Senecaville, Ohio; and sister, Emily Jerkin of Cumberland, Maryland.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Billie Williamson; and daughter-in-law, Adrena Losh.
Jean was a 1947 graduate of Grafton High School, where she served in the Civil Air Patrol. During her life, she lived for several years in Buckhannon, West Virginia, and Morgantown, West Virginia.
While raising her sons, she was a Cub Scout Den Leader for all three and was awarded the Silver Fawn Award for her service.
Jean was a retired employee of West Virginia University and was an avid Mountaineer fan who was a football season ticket holder for 34 years. Jean also loved her time spent with friends and family at their camp on the Buckhannon River.
She was a Methodist by faith.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Brian L. Seders officiating.
A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the West Virginia National Cemetery near Grafton, West Virginia, and interment will follow.
