Donna Jean Skidmore Koontz

Donna was born Saturday, Oct. 20, 1962, in Elkins, a daughter of the late David Eugen Skidmore and Janet Rae Shelton Skidmore Talbott, who survives.

On Dec. 19, 1981, she married Wilbur “Bill” Koontz, who survives.

Also left to cherish her memory are two children, Tara Koontz of Kingwood and Zachery Koontz of Elkins; one grandson, Dominic Koontz; three siblings, Terri Shields and husband, Dave, David Skidmore and wife, Karen, and Brian Skidmore and wife, Kristie, all of Elkins; nieces and nephews, Brook Shields Price, Elliott Shields, Ethan Shields and Ashley Skidmore Ryan; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and one grand-fur baby, Toby.

Donna was a 1980 graduate of Elkins High School and was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She was an avid reader. However, she did enjoy playing video poker computer games and watching reality TV. Donna loved sneaking whole pieces of cheese to Toby.

Donna’s request for cremation will be honored.
