Hallie Virginia Oxier Coger

COGER

Hallie Virginia Oxier Coger, 78, a resident of Beverly, passed from this life Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, in the comfort of her own home.

Hallie was born Monday, Feb. 14, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of the late Austin James Oxier and Maudie Hallie Virginia McCauley Oxier.

On April 7, 1962, she married Gerald Russell Coger, who preceded her in death. They had celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Also left to cherish Hallie’s memory are four children, Mary White and husband, James, Russell Coger and companion, Valerie, Tommy Coger and wife, Lori, and Sara Phares and husband, Robert Winans; two siblings, Ray Oxier and Sue Johnson; 11 grandchildren, Alan White, Sabrina White, Tiffany White, Chelesi, James White Jr., Dessiree Coger-Akeny and husband, Doug, Russell “Rusty” Coger Jr., Austin Phares and wife, Alyssia, Samantha Phares, T.J. Coger and wife, Mandy, and Devin Coger, eight great-grandchildren, Naudia, Colin, Devany, Abby, Ellie, Daniel, Marshall and Dominick; several nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Teresa Darlene Coger.

Preceding Hallie in death besides her parents were two siblings, Bob and James Oxier; seven infant siblings; and one grandson, Travis Coger.

Hallie attended the schools of Randolph County and proudly obtained her GED in 1995. She had been employed as a grader/nester at Armstrong Flooring until her retirement.

Hallie loved to crochet and had a superb green thumb for plants. She absolutely loved her camera and adored her grandchildren. She was Baptist by faith.

Visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, from 11 a.m. until noon, the funeral hour. Rev. Paul Thompson will officiate and interment will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery on Adolph Road.
