Robert ‘Bob’ Frederick Gottschall

Robert “Bob” Frederick Gottschall, 89, a resident of Norton, passed from this life Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at home. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
Bob was born Friday, Oct. 6, 1933, in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Charles Henry Gottschall and Thelma Excell Gottschall.
On June 25, 1955, in Pennsylvania, he married the former Judith “Judy” Goss, who survives at home.
Also left to cherish his memory are five children, Robert Gottschall and wife Judy, William Gottschall, Mark Gottschall, Matthew Gottschall and wife, Cheryl, and Melody Lakus and husband, Albert; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were three siblings.
Bob attended school in Pennsylvania and then served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956. He then attended the Philadelphia College of Art and Design. Bob worked as a machinist for SKF. Bob had always loved hot dogs from a place called The Last Stand Hot Dogs. He hoped to one day have his own stand; so, in 2003, Bob opened and operated Bob’s Hot Dogs in Norton for the next seven years.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Bob’s request for cremation will then be honored.
