Douglas Bradford Bickel

He was born Nov. 23, 1946, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, a son of the late Joyce M. and Wanda Pickens Bickel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Steven Douglas Bickel.

He is survived by two brothers, Jerald Bickel and wife, LeAnna, of Elkins, West Virginia, and Darrel Bickel of Grafton, West Virginia; and one sister, Julia Robbins and husband, Dr. Donald Robbins, of Marlette, Michigan.

Mr. Bickel graduated from Elkins High School with the class of 1964 and was a U.S. Veteran. Following his military service, he worked for Timken in Canton, Ohio. Douglas was a Methodist by faith and belonged to the VFW 3081 in Grafton, VFW 1134 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and AMVETS in Winston-Salem.

Friends will be received Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11a.m. on Wednesday, from the funeral home, with Pastor David Jesse officiating.

Burial will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
