Lowell Edward ‘Unk’ England

Mr. Lowell Edward “Unk” England, 80, a resident of the Audra Community near Belington, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, May 24, 2023, at his home. Death was following a period of declining health.
He was born Oct. 31, 1942, at Belington, West Virginia, a son of the late W. Oliver and Agnes Louise Burner England.
On Feb. 7, 1969, he was united in marriage to the former Linda Lou Simmons, who survives at their home near Belington.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three nieces, Evelyn and nephew, Tom Ash, of Pennsylvania, Crystal Tenney of Belington and Amanda Booth and husband, Chad, of Moatsville; and great-niece, Ashley Alexis Booth of Moatsville.
Additional survivors include brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edsil and Carolyn Nestor of Moatsville; sisters-in-law, Beverly Simmons of Grafton and Helen Simmons of Harrisonburg, Virginia; and brother-in-law, Chester White of Belington.
Several other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Elizabeth England White.
Lowell attended the Schools of Barbour County and was a graduate from the Belington High School with the class of 1961, and was a member of the Grace Chapel United Methodist Church. He was employed by the City of Belington, from which he retired, for 32 years as a street commissioner. He loved to watch Westerns and loved to hunt and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Saturday May 27, 2023, from 11 a.m.. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour, where final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will then follow in the Concord Cemetery near Belington.
