Robert Kenneth Louk, 85, of Mill Creek, West Virginia, passed away surrounded by loved ones at the Charles George VA Medical Center-Hospice Care in Asheville, North Carolina, on May 6, 2023.
Bob was born in Dailey, West Virginia, to parents, Grover and Mary Louk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, along with siblings, Neil, Rosalie, Ray, Ralph and Ruby; and son, Steve Light.
He is survived by his sister, Revedean Sponaugle (Lewis) of Bunker Hill, West Virginia.
Bob was married to Deloris (Johnson) Light, surviving in Elkins, West Virginia, in 1966 and became a father to her children, Pansy Light (Chuck), Steve Light and Gina Light, all of West Virginia. Bob and Deloris had one son together, Arthur Louk (Dawn) of North Carolina and shared 12 grandchildren.
Bob served in the U.S. Army, after which he worked in the coal mines and he was a skilled home builder/renovator.
Bob loved animals and was known to take in stray cats and orphaned racoons. He also enjoyed reading, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
The family would like to thank the staff of the VA Hospice in Asheville, North Carolina, for the extremely kind and respectful care they provided to Bob. We are truly grateful for the wonderful peace of mind they enabled him to have in his last days.
