Rodney Ray Foster, 69, a resident of Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life Thursday afternoon, May 25, 2023, at his home. He had been in declining health although death was unexpected.
He was born Monday, June 29, 1953, at Parsons, West Virginia, a son of the late George F. A. and Violet Mae Bright Foster.
Surviving are one son, Michael Todd Foster of Elkins; one daughter, Mandi Rae Foster (J.T. Palmer) of Elkins; one brother, Larry Eugene Foster of Elkins; two grandchildren, Nia and Kai Palmer; and his previous wife, Vicki Foster Linn.
Preceding him in death is one daughter, Tina Marie Foster.
He was very close to his daughter’s dog, Chance, who passed away on May 25, 2016.
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1972, and attended the Rivers of Living Water Church at Elkins. He had previously worked for West Vaco and had been a dump truck driver for ALCON and retired from Behr Contracting in August of 2022.
He was proud of his Harley-Davidson and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and loved watching them play sports.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2023.
Final Rites will be conducted from the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m. Dr. Phillip Richards will officiate and interment will follow at the Flanagan Hill Cemetery at Red Creek, West Virginia.
