Carol Ann "Dot" McGee Broughton, 85, a resident of Elkins, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, July 6, 2023, in the Davis Medical Center.
She was born July 26, 1937, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Casel and Anna Mae Ryder McGee.
She was married to Hirsil L. "Hersh" Broughton, who preceded her in death in 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Marty Broughton and fiance, Jaime Arbogast, and Craig Broughton of Elkins; one granddaughter, Ayriana Broughton of Elkins; one sister, Cheryl "Sue" Cooper of Elkins; and one half-brother, Frank Buris, Baltimore, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were sisters, Letha Bernadine, Ercel Mae, twin sisters, Ernestine "Ernie" and Etheline "Bootie" and Eleanor Jean "Nootie"; and brothers, Virgil, Arden, Neil, Keith and Kenneth Lee "Little Jack."
"Dot" attended the schools of Randolph County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkins and enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and QVC Network. She loved her cats, especially Taz, was a devout Dale Earnhardt fan and enjoyed watching the West Virginia University Mountaineers, gardening and, more than anything, spending time with her "Precious Angel", Ayriana and her sons, Marty and Craig.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, from the funeral home chapel.
Rev. Brett Rinehart and Rev. Mike Boggs will officiate and interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elkins, 412 Randolph Ave, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of "Dot."
