Harvey Wayne Kelley

Mr. Harvey Wayne Kelley, 74, a resident of Belington, departed this life early Sunday morningm July 23, 2023, at his home. Death was following a period of declining health.

He was born Nov. 13, 1948, at Clarksburg, West Virginia, a son of the late Arnold Clarence and Betty Jane Browning Kelley.

On April 7, 2002 he was united in marriage to the former Sandra Kay Loudin, who survives at their home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Joseph Kelley and wife, Casey, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one daughter, Christine Lanham and husband, Chuck, of Grafton, West Virginia; two brothers, Warren Kelley and wife, Betsy, of Moundsville, West Virginia, and Kevin Kelley and wife Cheryl of Belington; one sister, Judy Haller of Belington, West Virginia. Additional survivors include step children, Danelle Cox of French Creek, West Virginia, Brian Cox and wife, Tammy, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, Greg Cox of French Creek, West Virginia, and Brittney Archibald and husband, Joel of, Virginia.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Hunter Kelley, Charlie, Kate and Olivia Lanham, Brett Wayts and wife Ashley, Shane Wayts, Shantelle Small, Kendall Cox, Kyle Cox, Mason Archibald and Merideth Archibald. Great-grandchildren surviving are, Conner, Dixie, and Daisy Lanham, Maverick Lanham-Mahoney, Trevor Small, Mina Small, Haleigh Wayts and Braydon Wayts.

Mr. Kelley is also survived by a former wife, Dottie Upton, of Philippi and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother; Vernon Dale Kelley, a step-son, Dennis Tallman; and former wife, Vickie Fuller Kelley.

Mr. Kelley was a 1966 graduate of the Philip Barbour High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Kelley was employed for many years with Mon Power, where he worked as a lineman, from which he retired. After retirement he volunteered his time working on the Tygart Flyer Greenbrier Railroad. He attended the Sugar Creek Methodist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed making maple syrup, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Per Mr. Kelley’s request, cremation will be honored. The family will receive friends at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 1-2 p.m. at which time a memorial service will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Chris Debarr officiating.

The presentation of the American flag will be presented by the United States Navy. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
