Julia Maria Bosworth, 77, a resident of Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life early Monday morning, July 17, 2023, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living at Elkins, West Virginia.
She was born Dec. 16, 1945, at Elkins, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Judge Stanley S. Bosworth and Ebba Linnea Erlandson Bosworth.
She had never married.
She is survived by her friends, Linda Little of Elkins, West Virginia, Kristie Stalnaker of Bowden, Lola Spotloe of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Brad Simmons, Erica Armentrout and husband, Thomas, all of Elkins.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Ann Bosworth and Beverly Linnea Bosworth.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1963 and a graduate of Davis & Elkins College in 1967. She was an Elementary School Teacher, working at First Ward School and Jennings Randolph School, for over 35 years, retiring in 2006. She was a member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Phi Chapter, Alpha Delta Kappa, the Teachers Sorority, Local School Improvement Council at Jennings Randolph, Friends of the Library, Randolph County Humane Society and the Randolph County Retired School Employees, where she served as secretary for many years. She loved reading and needlework.
Friends will be received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins, West Virginia, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
A graveside service will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins, West Virginia, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
The Rev. Mr. Raymond G. Godwin will officiate and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins, West Virginia.
