Michael Edward McSpadden, 40, a resident of Montrose, passed from this life Thursday, July 6, 2023, at home. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
Michael was born Thursday, Jan. 20, 1983, in Elkins, a son of Eugene McSpadden and Pamela White McSpadden.
On Dec. 27, 2012, in Elkins, he married the former Roberta Simmons, who survives.
Also left to cherish his memory, are three children, Hunter McSpadden, Branson and Peyton; one brother, Mitchell McSpadden; two nieces, MacKenzie McSpadden and companion, Jimmy Crislip, and Avery McSpadden; lifetime friends, Robbie and Tink Ott and their children; and his coal miner families.
Preceding him in death was one brother, Dennis McSpadden; stepfather, Bob Peters; and father-in- law, Robert E. Simmons.
Michael attended the schools of Randolph County and had been employed for 16 years as a coal miner. He worked six years with Arch Coal and 10 years with Carter Roag. He loved his job! He also enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping. Michael had learned how to farm and loved spending time with family and friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Michael's request for cremation will then be honored.
The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Michael Edward McSpadden.
