Robert Eugene Scott Sr.

He was born May 1, 1963, at Kingwood, West Virginia, a son of the late Paul Clifford and Joy Lee Upton Scott. In 1982, he was united in marriage to the former Sharon Marie Shifflett, who survives at their home in Belington.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert E. Scott Jr. and wife, Ashley, of Belington; and two grandchildren, Kylie and Wyatt. Additional survivors include seven brothers, Paul Scott of Maryland, James Scott and wife, Debbie, of North Carolina, Thomas Scott and wife, Louann, of California, Roger Harsh and wife, Becky, of Fairmont, Dan Scott and wife, Vickie, of Belington, Steve Mullenex and wife, Mary, of Terra Alta, West Virginia, and Kenneth Mullenex of Virginia; five sisters, Betty Fint and husband, Carl, of Aurora, West Virginia, Catherine Collins, Dorothy Lyons-Wilkie of Florida, Caroline Austin of Elkins, West Virginia, and Mary Allman of Elgon of West Virginia; mother- and father-in-law, Jessie and Janet Shifflett of Junior.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Pauletta Scott; and one brother, Mike Mullenex.

Robert was a graduate from the Philip Barbour High School with the class of 1981. He was Pentecostal by faith and attended the Gospel Light Tabernacle in Elkins.

He was previously employed by Food Lion and also for Security Management in South Carolina. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the funeral hour where final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. A. H. Belt officiating. Interment will then follow in the Stringtown Cemetery near Belington.
