Edward James Guire Sr.
GUIRE
Edward James Guire Sr., 79, a resident of Beverly, West Virginia, departed this life Friday afternoon, Aug. 25, 2023, at the Mon Health Medical Center at Morgantown, West Virginia. Death was attributed to cardiac arrest.
He was born Saturday, Nov. 27, 1943, at Norton, West Virginia, a son of the late Constant James “Gus” and Helen Tinsky Guire.
On Aug. 14, 1966. at Elkins, he was married to the former Beverly Jo Hedrick, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Edward James Guire Jr. and significant other, Samantha Chidester, and Benjamin Lee Guire and significant other, Amanda McLaughlin, all of Beverly; one sister, Margaret Skidmore of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews.
He attended the schools of Coalton and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. He had worked as a welder in Ohio before moving back to West Virginia. In his younger years he enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Final Rites will be conducted at from funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Keith Miller will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Country Club Road, Elkins, West Virginia.
