It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allen Dale King, who peacefully departed this world on Sept. 23, 2023, at the age of 75. He was surrounded by family and loved ones as he embarked on the next stage of his journey.
Born on Nov. 11, 1947, to Harry Dale and Opal Darlene Bright King, Allen Dale King was a cherished husband and father. His presence exuded joy and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His legacy will forever be defined by his boundless kindness, unwavering love for family and friends, and his remarkable spirit of generosity.
Allen's zest for life was abundantly evident through his diverse interests and pursuits. He achieved excellence in his 43-year career at Rite Aid Corporation, establishing himself as a standout in the business world. Prior to his private sector endeavors, Allen dedicated his service to the Army and National Guard at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was an active and dedicated member of the Beni Kedem Shriners and Elkins Masonic Lodge No. 108, where he served as a Master Mason, with both memberships spanning 50 years. Allen was also a part of the Allegheny Chapter of the Friends of the NRA, the Eastern Star, Randolph Chapter 74, and was a proud member of the American Legion, Post 16.
As a faithful member of Israel Church, he served as a trustee, contributing his benevolence and commitment to these organizations, leaving an indelible impact on his community and far beyond.
Allen is survived by his loving wife, Caroline Sue Kingl and his devoted son, Allen Travis King along with his wife, Amy Renee King, and cherished grandson, Alexander Reagan King. Also among the survivors are Allen's sister, Connie Purdum, Uncle Roy Bright; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carol and Randall Bodkin; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Their hearts are filled with cherished memories of their time together.
He is preceded in death by his younger brother, Randy Lane King; and his parents, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the afterlife.
A graveside service in honor of Allen Dale King's life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 at Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Pastor Kevin Gainer will officiate and members of Elkins Lodge No. 108 AF & AM will conduct ritualistic ceremony.
Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, sharing stories and memories while providing mutual support during this challenging time.

The loss of Allen Dale King leaves a void that words cannot fill, but his spirit will forever reside in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
