Patricia Ann McCollam Coen, 74, a resident of Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life Sunday morning, Sept. 10, 2023, at West Virginia Caring Hospice at Elkins, West Virginia. She had been in declining health.
She was born Monday, July 11, 1949, at Elkins, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Willis L. McCollam, Sr., and Geraldine Scheitlin McCollam.
On June 20, 1987, at Elkins she was married to Michael Duane Coen, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are four daughters, Susie Boatwright and husband, Roger, Gerri Jones, and Julie Broschart and partner, Melanie McDonald, all of Elkins, Dawnie Chewning and husband, Kevin, of Coalton; three brothers, Willis “Bill” McCollam Jr. and wife, Linda, John “Peanut” McCollam and wife, Maxine, all of Elkins, “Donnie” McCollam of New York; one sister, Geraldine “Pooch” Rosencrance and husband, Eugene, of Elkins; five grandsons, Christopher and Tanner Boatwright, Dustin and Garrett Chewning, Casey Jones; one granddaughter, Hemingway Jones; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are one brother, James McCollam; four sisters, JoAnn Comer, Donna Cochran, Lorraine Kittle and Betty Lemeiux; and one granddaughter, Bella Ann Reece.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School and was a Christian by faith.
Patricia enjoyed reading, writing poetry and enjoyed people. She loved her children and grandchildren tremendously.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at 10 a.m. Pastor Ann Fretwell will officiate and interment will follow.
